Working for Equity in Health, a project funded by the EC’s PROGRESS programme and co-ordinated by Health Action Partnership International, has published its latest publication: Pan-European macro-drivers: Work, worklessness, social protection and health inequalities.
The report offers an insight and the latest evidence as to how policy responses can be designed to be health protective in times of crisis and argues that governments should promote and invest in social protection measures such as Active Labour Market Programmes to enhance both health and the functioning of the labour market.
The report follows an Expert Forum, held in Brussels in January 2012, for which a discussion paper was produced by EuroHealthNet and the European Social Observatory.
